ABOUT

Dead Pop Mag Society started life as an instagram account which posted old magazine scans, until one day when Cerys had a brain wave and decided she’d put her journo skills to good use and start a blog, getting best scottish pal Fern to join her. Thus (big word that), Dead Pop Mag Society was born! Dead Pop Mag Society aims to be a madcap blog that puts all the fun and chaos into music journalism- interrogating bands through the medium of pulling questions out of a biccie tin (fanks Smash Hits), brain fart reviews and god knows what else. The only way to really describe it is that it’s a bit like the written equivalent of getting gunged on live kids telly. But WAIT, it doesn’t just stop at the blog, because we’ve also got a TikTok page & a Youtube channel where we’ll be posting some groovy audiovisual content too! Go on, get on it, follow us on socials, you know you want to (scroll down to find out a bit more about the team behind it!)

(ok, its not so much a "team" as such, more of a dynamic duo, we're like the Ant and Dec of music journalism I suppose.)

Cerys’ first venture into music journalism was creating her own magazine covers with Microsoft Word on her Mum’s old battered laptop at the age of 9. Since then, she’s written for several music magazines and blogs and has studied Music, Marketing Media & Communications at BIMM Brighton. Her likes include Kasabian, nostalgia and living vicariously through her sims. Will also hyperfixate on anything and everything for no reason at all. It just happens ok.

Fern initially ventured into writing about music by submitting album reviews alongside her physics homework, it's no surprise that she is no longer pursuing a career in physics but is instead doing a Journalism degree. Aside from writing about music her hobbies include collecting records, archery, and telling everyone about how her car only plays CD’s.
